Witness That Shines – Salt & Light

TRAC Vision 2026–2029: Come, Follow, Become like Jesus 2026–2029 年砂拉越华人年议会异象:来、跟随、效法耶稣 Witness That Shines – Salt & Light 发光的见证 — 盐与光 Matthew 5:1–16 马太福音 5:1–16 Sermon by Bro. Jesus began the Sermon on the Mount by teaching the Beatitudes, revealing the character of true disciples of Christ. Christians are called to live differently from the world — with humility, mercy, righteousness, peacemaking, and love. After describing the inward qualities of a disciple, Jesus then calls His followers to become the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” Christians are meant to influence the world positively, preserving goodness, bringing hope, and reflecting the love of Christ through both actions and the message of the Gospel. The sermon reminds us that every believer is called to shine brightly ...

Journal: Isaiah 31–35

Isaiah Chapter 31 1) Summary Isaiah warns Judah not to depend on Egypt for military help against Assyria. The people trusted horses, chariots, and human strength rather than relying on God. Isaiah reminds them that the Lord Himself will defend Jerusalem and protect His people like a lion and a hovering bird. Key Scripture “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help… but do not look to the Holy One of Israel.” — Isaiah 31:1 2) Reflection It is easy to trust visible resources, people, money, or human plans more than God. Yet human strength is limited, while God’s power is eternal. This chapter challenges me to ask: Where do I run first when fear comes—toward God or toward worldly security? 3) Response Lord, forgive me when I place my trust in human strength instead of You. Teach me to rely fully upon Your wisdom, protection, and guidance. Isaiah Chapter 32 1) Summary Isaiah describes the coming righteous King and the blessings of His reign. Under godly leadership, justice and peace...

Jesus Seeks and Saves the Lost

Rev. Danny Chiew began by highlighting the many ministry opportunities God has placed before the church through the Boys’ Brigade, Girls’ Brigade, schools, and outreach ministries. He reminded the congregation that many lives have been transformed because believers were willing to intentionally reach out to young people and outsiders with the love of Christ. Using the story of Zacchaeus, Rev. Danny emphasized that Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He encouraged the church to reflect on whether believers today are willing to see people through the compassionate eyes of Christ instead of through prejudice, social status, or human judgment. Just as Jesus reached out to Zacchaeus, the church today is called to actively reach out to those who are spiritually lost and marginalized.

Journal Isaiah 26-30

Isaiah Chapter 26 1) Summary Isaiah records a song of trust and victory for God’s people. The chapter emphasizes God’s perfect peace for those who trust in Him completely. It contrasts the righteous who depend on God with the wicked who refuse to learn righteousness. Isaiah also speaks of future resurrection hope and God’s ultimate victory over evil. Key Scripture “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” — Isaiah 26:3 2) Reflection True peace does not come from perfect circumstances but from trusting God. When my thoughts are fixed on Him, I can experience calm even during uncertainty. This chapter reminds me to surrender my fears and anxieties to the Lord daily. 3) Response Lord, keep my heart and mind in Your perfect peace. Help me to trust You fully instead of being consumed by worry or fear. Isaiah Chapter 27 1) Summary God promises judgment against evil, symbolized by Leviathan, but He also promises restor...

The Message That Transforms 改变生命的信息 Romans 1:16–17 罗马书 1:16–17

Bro. Yap Han Shawn began by emphasizing that the Gospel is not merely a religious message or moral teaching, but the very power of God that transforms lives. Drawing from Romans 1:16–17, he highlighted Paul’s bold declaration: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” He explained that many Christians today struggle with fear, hesitation, or embarrassment when sharing the Gospel because they misunderstand what the Gospel truly is. The Gospel is not simply advice on how to live better; it is the announcement of what God has already done through Jesus Christ to save humanity. 1. The Gospel is not merely Good Advice, but Good News

Journal Isaiah 21-25

📖 Bible Journal: Isaiah 21–25 Isaiah Chapter 21 1) Summary Isaiah delivers prophecies concerning Babylon, Edom, and Arabia. He describes a vision of disaster coming upon Babylon, where its fall is announced with the words, “Babylon has fallen.” Watchmen are placed to observe and warn the people. The chapter highlights the certainty of God’s judgment upon nations that trust in pride and worldly power. Key Scripture “Babylon has fallen, has fallen! All the images of its gods lie shattered on the ground!” — Isaiah 21:9 2) Reflection This chapter reminds me that earthly kingdoms and human strength are temporary. What seems powerful today can fall tomorrow. It challenges me to consider where I place my trust. Am I building my life on temporary things, or on God’s eternal kingdom? 3) Response Lord, help me not to place my confidence in worldly success or security. Teach me to build my life upon Your truth, which never fails. Isaiah Chapter 22 1) Summary Isaiah rebukes Jerusalem becaus...

The God Who Seeks 寻找人的上帝 Luke 15:1–10 路加福音 15:1–10

The God Who Seeks Rev. Aaron Liu began by reminding the congregation that powerful spiritual encounters—such as healing, freedom, and sensing God’s presence—are not the end, but an invitation into a deeper relationship with God. He emphasized that it is possible to experience God’s movement yet miss His heart behind it. Through Luke 15, Jesus reveals not just what God does, but why He does it—the heart of a God who seeks the lost. Rev. Aaron Liu challenged the church to move beyond viewing evangelism as a program and instead understand it as a lifestyle rooted in God’s heart. 1. God Moves Toward the Lost 15:1–2 Rev. Aaron Liu highlighted the contrast between two...

Journal: Isaiah 16–20

📖 Journal: Isaiah 16–20 Isaiah Chapter 16 1) Summary This chapter continues the prophecy concerning Moab. There is a call for Moab to seek refuge and show humility, yet pride prevents true repentance. Isaiah expresses deep compassion for Moab’s suffering, but judgment is still certain. Within a few years, Moab’s glory will fade. Key Scripture “We have heard of Moab’s pride—how great is her arrogance!” — Isaiah 16:6 2) Reflection Pride is a barrier that keeps people from turning back to God. Even when help is available, pride can prevent repentance. This challenges me to examine whether there are areas in my life where pride is keeping me from fully surrendering to God. 3) Response Lord, remove pride from my heart. Help me to humble myself before You and respond quickly to Your correction and guidance. Isaiah Chapter 17 1) Summary Isaiah prophesies judgment against Damascus and Israel. Their strength and glory will fade because they have turned away from God and relied on their own def...

He then shared the powerful testimony of the 1973 Bario Revival in Sarawak , where a group of students gathered not for a grand event, but for sincere prayer and confession. This led to a deep movement of the Holy Spirit that transformed individuals, families, and entire communities. He emphasized that revival is not manufactured by human effort but initiated by the Spirit of God. The same God who moved in the past is able to move again today. This raises a heartfelt prayer within us: “Lord, would You do it again?” 📖  Journal: Isaiah 11–15 Isaiah Chapter 11 1) Summary Isaiah prophesies about the coming Messiah from the line of Jesse. This King will be filled with the Spirit of the Lord and will rule with wisdom, righteousness, and justice. His reign will bring peace, even transforming nature itself. Nations will seek Him, and God will gather His people from all over the earth. Key Scripture “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding…” — Isaiah 11:2 2) Reflection This chapter gives a beautiful picture of Christ’s perfect rule. Unlike human leaders, He leads with righteousness and truth. It reminds me that true peace and justice come only from God. Am I allowing Christ to rule in every area of my life? 3) Response Lord Jesus, reign in my heart. Fill me with Your Spirit and align my life with Your righteousness. Help me to trust in Your perfect leadership. Isaiah Chapter 12 1) Summary This chapter is a song of praise and thanksgiving. It celebrates God’s ...
