Sermon by Rev. Aaron Liu 7 June 2026 Introduction Rev. Aaron Liu reminded us that the Christian life begins, continues, and ends with God's grace. In his opening verses to the Galatian church, the Apostle Paul immediately directs attention away from human effort and toward God's saving work through Jesus Christ. The Galatians were facing the temptation to believe that acceptance before God depended on religious performance and obedience to rules. Paul therefore begins his letter by emphasizing that salvation is entirely the work of God. We are not saved by our achievements, morality, status, or spiritual accomplishments. We are saved solely by God's grace through Jesus Christ. Rev. Aaron highlighted that many believers today struggle with the same issue. We often measure our worth by our performance, comparing ourselves with others and believing we must earn God's approval.  📖 Journal: Isaiah 41–45 Isaiah Chapter 41 1) Summary God reassures Israel that although the nations may appear powerful, He remains sovereign over history. He reminds His people that He chose them and will not abandon them. God repeatedly tells Israel not to fear because He is with them, strengthening, helping, and upholding them. While idols are powerless, the Lord alone is the true God who saves. Key Scripture “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” — Isaiah 41:10 2) Reflection Fear often arises when I focus on my problems instead of God's presence. This chapter reminds me that God's promise is not the absence of difficulties but His presence through them. When I feel weak or uncertain, I can rest in the assurance that God is holding me with His righteous right hand. 3) Response Lord, thank You for being with me in every situation. Lord, I humbly ask for Your continued **protection** over me, my loved ones, and all those I hold dear. Please be a shield around us, guarding us against all harm—seen and unseen. Keep us safe from danger, guide our steps away from trouble, and watch over us in our coming and going. Grant me the wisdom to care for the temple of my body, the peace to navigate the challenges of today, and the assurance that I am never alone under Your watchful care. Let Your light shine upon my path, keeping me focused on goodness, hope, and love. I place this day into Your hands, trusting in Your unfailing love and mercy. Amen.

The Assyrian commander mocks Judah and challenges their trust in God, claiming that no god has ever delivered a nation from Assyria's power. He attempts to sow fear and doubt among the people. Despite the intimidating threats, Hezekiah's officials remain silent and report everything to the king. Key Scripture “Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. He cannot deliver you!” — Isaiah 36:14 2) Reflection The enemy often attacks our faith through fear, doubt, and intimidation. Like Judah, we may face situations that seem impossible, where voices around us question God's ability to help.
