Sermon Title: Mercy On The Wilderness Road 讲道题目:旷野之路上的怜悯 Scripture Passage: Matthew 4:1–11 (NIV) 经文:马太福音 4:1–11(新译本) Sermon By Rev Ronnie Chiu 讲员:赵荣昭牧师 Introduction 引言 As we enter the Lenten season and reflect on Christ’s journey toward the cross, we are invited to consider the meaning of the wilderness in our own spiritual lives. In Matthew 4:1, we read, “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” This verse immediately tells us something important: the wilderness was not accidental. It was intentional. The Spirit led Jesus there. The wilderness, therefore, is not merely a barren desert place. It represents a season in our spiritual journey when God brings us into deeper dependence on Him. It may be a time of dryness, confusion, disappointment, or testing. Yet it is...

📖 Ecclesiastes 11 Summary Ecclesiastes 11 encourages boldness and generosity despite uncertainty. We are urged to “cast our bread upon the waters,” meaning to invest and give freely, trusting that results will come in time. Since we cannot control the wind or predict the future, we should not wait for perfect conditions. Youth is a gift to be enjoyed, but it must be lived with awareness that God will bring everything into judgment. Key Scripture Ecclesiastes 11:4 – “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.” Reflection I sometimes delay action waiting for ideal timing. This chapter reminds me that faith requires movement. Life is uncertain, but obedience should not be postponed. Response Lord, help me to act in faith and not fear uncertainty. Teach me to sow generously and live responsibly before You. 📖 Ecclesiastes 12 Summary This final chapter calls us to remember our Creator in the days of youth before old age weakens the body. The p...

Sermon Title: Small Groups Make a Big Difference In this sermon, Brother Yap Koon Roy reminds us that the Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. Through the testimony of a struggling couple who found healing and belonging in a small group, he illustrates a powerful truth: God designed the church to function as a spiritual family. Drawing from Scripture, church history, and personal testimonies, the message emphasizes that small groups are not optional programs but essential expressions of biblical Christianity. 1. The Biblical Model of Community (1) The Early Church – Devoted and United In Acts 2, we see a clear picture of how the early believers lived: 在使徒行传第2章中,我们清楚看见初代信徒...

Journal Ecclesiastes 6 to 10

📖 Ecclesiastes 6 Summary Ecclesiastes 6 reflects on the emptiness of wealth without enjoyment. A person may have riches, honor, and long life, yet if they cannot enjoy these blessings, it is meaningless. Even having many children or living many years is futile if the soul is not satisfied. Human desires are never fully satisfied, and much of life remains beyond our understanding. Ultimately, we do not know what is best for us or what will happen after us. Key Scripture Ecclesiastes 6:9 – “Better what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.” Reflection Satisfaction does not come from accumulation but from contentment. I often think that “more” will make life better, but Solomon reminds me that unchecked desire only leads to restlessness. Enjoyment is a gift from God, not something money can secure. Response Lord, teach me to be content with what You have given. Help me to enjoy simple blessings and not chase after endless desire...

What Does the Lord Require? Micah 6:1–8 (NIV)

Sermon Title: What Does the Lord Require? Scripture Passage: Micah 6:1–8 (NIV)    经文段落: 弥迦书 6:1–8(和合本)   Sermon By:Rev. Rev. Aaron Liu began by drawing attention to the modern tendency to measure faith through outward success, wealth, and religious performance. He **highlighted** how satire surrounding prosperity-driven Christianity resonates uncomfortably because it exposes a deeper truth: when faith becomes a performance, the gospel is distorted. Turning to Micah 6:1–8, Rev. Aaron **reminded the congregation** that this struggle is not new. God’s people have long confused religious activity with genuine devotion. This passage, he **emphasized**, calls the church back to authentic discipleship—one rooted in grace, integrity, and humble obedience rather than external display. ...

Ecclesiastes 1-5

Ecclesiastes Chapter 1 1) Summary The Teacher reflects on the repetitive nature of life and the seeming meaninglessness of human effort. Everything appears cyclical—generations come and go, the sun rises and sets, and nothing truly feels new. Human wisdom and knowledge, though valuable, cannot fully satisfy the soul or explain life’s deeper purpose. Key Scripture “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless.” — Ecclesiastes 1:2 2) Reflection This chapter confronts my tendency to seek fulfillment in activity, achievement, or understanding. It exposes how easily life becomes exhausting when I expect meaning to come from things that were never meant to carry that weight. Even wisdom has limits—it can describe the world, but it cannot redeem it. 3) Response Lord, help me recognize where I am chasing meaning apart from You. Teach me to rest in Your eternal purpose rather than striving for satisfaction through endless effort or knowledge alone...
