Sermon Summary Title: Living Today, Longing For Tomorrow Speaker: Brother Yoong Yee Seng Main Text: 1 Thessalonians 1:2–10 (NIV) Brother Yoong emphasized that Christians are called to live with a clear purpose today while holding tightly to the eternal hope of tomorrow. Drawing from Paul’s letter in 1 Thessalonians 1:2–10, he pointed out how the believers in Thessalonica became a powerful example of faith, love, and hope. Their lives showed what it means to live fully in the present moment while anticipating the glorious return of Jesus Christ. This dual calling—to live well now and to long for eternity—is the heart of the Christian journey. 1. Living in the Present (Today) "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." – Matthew 6:34 "We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus C...

Journalling Psalm 106 to 110

📖 Psalm 106 Summary: Psalm 106 is a national confession of Israel’s repeated unfaithfulness despite God’s continual mercy. The psalmist recalls how the people forgot God's works, disobeyed His commands, and turned to idols—yet God still heard their cry and saved them. Key Verse: “Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry” – Psalm 106:44 (KJV) Reflection: This psalm reminds us of God's faithful love, even when we fail Him repeatedly. It challenges us to examine whether we are truly remembering God's faithfulness or repeating old patterns of disobedience. Response: Lord, I confess my forgetfulness and my tendency to stray. Thank Thee for Thy mercy that endureth forever. Help me to remember Thy deeds and walk in obedience daily. 📖 Psalm 107 Summary: Psalm 107 celebrates God’s steadfast love as He delivers people from trouble—wanderers, prisoners, the sick, and those caught in storms. All who cry to the Lord in their distress are rescued ...

Sermon Summary: “Kumbaya My Lord – Come By Here, My Lord” Date: Sunday,  17th July, 2025 Preacher: Reverend Jonathan Yeoh Main Text: Luke 18:1–8, Romans 12:12 Introduction The phrase “Kumbaya My Lord” means “Come by here, my Lord.” It is a heartfelt plea for God's presence in our pain, struggles, and waiting. Reverend Jonathan reminded us that as we walk through difficult times, we must not give up on praying, because prayer and perseverance are partners in our faith journey.      1. Prayer and Perseverance Go Hand in Hand Jesus told His disciples a parable “to show them that they should always pray and not give up” (Luke 18:1). This parable of the persistent widow illustrates the power of consistent, unrelenting prayer . We are called to: Cry out to God in our needs and battles. “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.” – 1 Kings 8:28 “King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah... cried out in prayer to h...

Journalling Esther 6 to 10

Esther Chapter 6 Summary: King Xerxes, unable to sleep, reads the royal records and discovers Mordecai had once saved his life but had never been honored. Haman, intending to ask for Mordecai’s execution, ironically ends up recommending—and leading—Mordecai’s public honor, humiliating himself. Key Scripture: “What honor and recognition has Mordecai received for this?” the king asked. “Nothing has been done for him,” his attendants answered. — Esther 6:3 Reflection: God’s timing is never late. Even when good deeds go unnoticed, God remembers. He can use the smallest details, like a sleepless night, to shift circumstances in His favor. Response: I will continue to do good without expecting reward, trusting that God sees and will lift up in His perfect time. Esther Chapter 7 Summary: Esther courageously reveals her Jewish identity and exposes Haman’s plot before King Xerxes. The king is enraged, and Haman is sentenced to die on the very gallows he had built for Mordecai...

The Bread of Life (John 6:48–58) Reverend Aaron Liu

📖  The Bread of Life John 6:48–58 | Speaker: Reverend Aaron Liu Christian Social Concerns Sunday – 6 July 2025 In this powerful and nourishing message, Reverend Aaron Liu led the congregation through John 6:48–58 , where Jesus declares, “I am the Bread of Life.” This metaphor invites us into a deeper understanding of how Christ alone satisfies our spiritual hunger , and how His presence fuels our love for others and our response to social concerns.       1. Presentation of the True Bread (John 6:48–50) Jesus speaks directly to our need, contrasting Himself with the manna given to the Israelites. While the manna sustained physical life temporarily, Jesus—the true Bread from heaven—offers eternal nourishment . We are reminded that we must depend on Christ daily , not just on Sundays or in emergencies. Just as we don’t eat once a week and expect to survive, neither can our souls flourish without daily communion with Christ. Key Verse: “I am the bread of l...
