Easter Sunrise Service, 20 April 2025 Sermon by Rev. Aaron Liu As dawn broke on Easter morning, we gathered not merely to remember an event but to awaken to its life-giving power. Reverend Aaron Liu led us through the resurrection story found in Luke 24:1–12 , reminding us that Easter is more than a celebration—it is a reality that transforms grief into joy, despair into hope, and death into life . 1. Expecting Death, Finding Life ( Luke 24:1–5 ) The women came to the tomb early in the morning, hearts heavy with grief, expecting to anoint a lifeless body. But heaven had already intervened— the stone was rolled away not to let Jesus out, but to let them in, to witness, believe, and be changed. “Why do you look for the living among the dead?” (Luke 24:5) Rev. Aaron reminded us that God often begins something new where we see only endings . The resurrection reveals that even in our darkest places, God is already working behind the scenes to bring life. 2. Remembering Promises, R...

Journal 2 Chronicles 26 - 30

Heavenly Father, We gather before Thee this blessed day with hearts full of gratitude, reflecting on the power and promise of Easter. We thank Thee for Thy boundless love that was poured out on the cross through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Through His crucifixion, our sins are forgiven; through His resurrection, we have hope and eternal life. Lord, as we meet today in fellowship, may our hearts be stirred by the truth of the Gospel. Help us to never lose the awe of the empty tomb and the victory over death. As we open Thy Word and share in reflection, teach us to live as redeemed people—bold in faith, humble in spirit, and rich in love. Sanctify this meeting, Lord. May Thy Holy Spirit lead our discussion and deepen our unity as disciples of Christ. Let this be a time of renewal, just as Easter reminds us of new life. In the precious name of our risen Lord Jesus we pray, Amen. 📖 2 Chronicles 26 Key Verse: “But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his dow...

Sermon Summary for 6th April, 2025: Title: The Sovereign Renewal Series: The Book of Zechariah Text: Zechariah 13:2-14:21 In today’s sermon, Reverend Aaron Liu led us through a powerful exploration of Zechariah 13:2-14:21 , highlighting the themes of purification , power , and peace . He broke down the passage into three key sections, each showing how God's sovereignty brings renewal to His people. 1. Purification by God’s Promise (Zechariah 13:2-9) Reverend Liu began by emphasizing God’s promise of purification for His people. In these verses, God speaks of removing the idols and false prophets from Israel, cleansing the hearts of the people so they can experience true restoration. Key Point: "Purified hearts, not perfect lives." Reverend Liu reminded the congregation that it is the heart that God seeks to purify, not just outward behavior. He emphasized that purification involves a deep inward transformation—turning away from sin and embracing holine...

Journal 2 Chronicles 16 to 20

Journal for 2 Chronicles 16-20 📖 2 Chronicles 16 (1) Summary King Asa, after years of relying on God, turns to the king of Aram instead of seeking God’s help against an enemy attack. Hanani the seer rebukes Asa, reminding him that trusting in the Lord brought victories in the past. Asa, however, reacts angrily and imprisons Hanani. Later, Asa suffers from a disease in his feet but refuses to seek the Lord, relying only on physicians. He dies after 41 years of reign. 🔑 Key Scripture: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9) (2) Reflection Asa’s early years were marked by faith, but later, he trusted in human alliances rather than God. This reminds me that past faithfulness does not guarantee future faithfulness —I must choose to trust God daily. It is easy to rely on human wisdom, but God desires a loyal heart that depends on Him fully. (3) Response ...

Laughters in Uncertain Times Speaker: Dr. Chuah Seong York Date: 30 March 2025 Key Scripture: Genesis 21:6 (NIV) – “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.” Life is often filled with uncertainties, challenges, and moments of waiting. Yet, even in the midst of uncertainty, God brings laughter—laughter that reflects His promises, faithfulness, and redemptive joy. In this powerful sermon, Dr. Chuah Seong York delved into the different types of laughter found in the Bible and how they reveal God’s nature and work in our lives.    The Three Types of Laughter Laughter of Doubt, Disbelief & Skepticism (Genesis 17:3, 17) When God promised Abraham that he would have a son in his old age, Abraham fell facedown and laughed, questioning how such a thing could happen. Sarah, too, laughed in disbelief when she heard the prophecy (Genesis 18:12-15). This kind of laughter is often our natural reaction when faced ...
