29th June 2025 – Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade Enrolment Sunday Sermon Title: Enrolling in God’s Brigade Preacher: Reverend Aaron Liu Scripture: Galatians 5:1; 13–25 Sermon Summary: On this Enrolment Sunday, Reverend Aaron Liu reminded us that joining the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade is symbolic of a much greater calling—our enrolment in God’s eternal brigade . The message centers on the true meaning of freedom in Christ —not as a personal entitlement, but a divine responsibility . Through Galatians 5, Paul encourages us to:    1. Stand Steadfast in Freedom 📖 Galatians 5:1 – “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Freedom is a responsibility , not just a right. We are freed from sin, not to serve ourselves, but to serve God and others. True Christian freedom resists returning to the bondage of legalism or self-indulgence. 2. Serve Selflessly in Love 📖 Galatians 5:13–14 – “Serve on...

Journaling 2 John, 3 John, Jude

📖 2 John 1 – Walk in Love and Truth Summary: John wrote this short letter to a lady and her children (could mean a church), reminding them to love one another and to obey God's truth. He also warned them not to follow or welcome false teachers who do not teach the truth about Jesus. Key Verse: “This is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands.” – 2 John 1:6 Reflection: Love is not just saying nice things. It means we obey God and follow His Word. When we stay close to the truth, we stay close to God. Response: I want to walk in God's truth every day. I must not follow people who twist God’s message. I will be careful with what I read or hear. 📖 3 John 1 – Be Kind and Do Good Summary: John praised Gaius for being faithful and kind, especially to missionaries and fellow believers. He reminded them not to be like Diotrephes, a proud man who rejected others, but instead follow the example of good people. Key Verse: “Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil ...

Do You Have A Calling? 1 Peter 1:13-16 Ho Gaik Kim

📖 Sermon Title: Do You Have A Calling? 🗓 Date: 22 June 2025 🕘 Time: 9:00 AM 🎤 Speaker: Sis Ho Gaik Kim 📖 Main Scripture: 1 Peter 1:13–16 (NIV) ✅ Sermon Summary: Sis Ho Gaik Kim shared a deeply reflective message on the concept of "calling" — a word often linked with ministry or spiritual roles, but which, in its truest biblical sense, applies to all believers. 1. Our Primary Calling: Salvation, Discipleship & Holiness We are all called: According to God’s purpose (Romans 8:28) To a heavenward prize (Philippians 3:14) To live a life worthy of the calling (Ephesians 4:1) A major aspect of this divine calling is holiness . God has called us to be holy just as He is holy: “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’” – 1 Peter 1:15–16; cf. Leviticus 11:44-45; 19:2; 20:26 As William Barclay put it, we are to be “set apart from the world, but not aloof from it.” We live ...

Journaling 1 John 1 to 5

📖 1 John Chapter 1 Summary: John opens his letter by affirming the reality of Jesus Christ—seen, heard, and touched. He calls believers into fellowship with God and each other, emphasizing that walking in the light means living in truth and confessing sin. Key Scripture: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9 Reflection: We are called to honesty before God. Hiding sin only deepens darkness, but confession leads to light, cleansing, and fellowship. This chapter reminds us that God’s nature is light, and we must reflect that light in our walk. Response: I will practice daily confession and self-examination, seeking to walk in God’s truth and maintain fellowship with Him and others. 📖 1 John Chapter 2 Summary: John writes to reassure believers that Jesus is their advocate and the atoning sacrifice for sin. He contrasts love for the world with love for God and warns against antichri...

Father’s Day: Finding What Is Most Important Speaker : Brother Yap Koon Roy Date : 15 June 2025 Scripture Texts : 2 Timothy 3:1-5; Ephesians 6:1-4 (NIV ) 📖 Sermon Summary Brother Yap Koon Roy’s Father’s Day message called believers to reflect on what true greatness means in the eyes of God, especially in the context of parenting and family relationships. Drawing from 2 Timothy 3:1–5 , he warned that we are living in perilous times — a world marked by selfishness, disobedience, and a breakdown of family values. Yet, in contrast, Ephesians 6:1–4 provides God’s blueprint for healthy, godly homes. “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right… Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.” — Ephesians 6:1,4 (NIV) 🏆 Three Marks of True Greatness True Greatness is about instilling a passionate love for God , which naturally flows into unquenchable love and concern for others . Fathers and mothers...

The All-Encompassing Circumcision: Galatians 5:6 Chuah Seong York

🕊 Living as People of God Series The All-Encompassing Circumcision Date: 08.06.2025 Main Text: Galatians 5:6 Speaker:  Chuah Seong York “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.” 🔍 Sermon Summary In this message, Brother Chuah explores what true circumcision means in the New Testament. No longer a physical act, circumcision is now a spiritual condition of the heart . God looks not at outward religious symbols, but inward obedience, transformation, and love. A Christian who is spiritually circumcised lives a life of faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6), is a new creation (Galatians 6:15), and keeps God's commands (1 Corinthians 7:19). These are the real signs of God’s people today.   ✂️ 3 Practical Applications of Circumcision 1. Circumcised Lips – Ready to be God’s Mouthpiece “I have put My words in your mouth…” – Jeremiah 1:9 ...

Thank Thee for sustaining us through the week and for giving us the opportunity to learn and grow together in Thy Word. As we reflect upon Nehemiah 6 to 10 and the message shared by Brother Chuah Seong York, we are reminded of what it means to be set apart—called not just to rebuild walls, but to rebuild lives wholly dedicated to Thee. We invite Thy Holy Spirit to lead this time of sharing, journaling, and fellowship. May Thy presence dwell among us richly. Open our minds and stir our spirits so we may live as true children of light, pleasing unto Thee in all things.
