📖 You’ve Got To Love The Church Scripture Passage: 1 Thessalonians 2:19–20 Speaker: Rev. Danny Chiew “For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you? Indeed, you are our glory and joy.” (1 Thessalonians 2:19–20, NIV) Introduction Rev. Danny Chiew began the message by pointing us to Paul’s tender words to the Thessalonian believers . He explained that Paul considered the church his hope, joy, and crown , showing us how deeply the apostle loved God’s people. Rev. Danny emphasized that we too must learn to love the church with such devotion, seeing our brothers and sisters as our joy in Christ. 1. Separation does not necessarily mean disconnection Rev. Danny Chiew highlighted that though Paul was separated from the Thessalonians, he never disconnected from them in spirit. His concern was so strong that he sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage them (1 Thess. 3:1–2). Rev. Danny reminded us that tru...

Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, We come before You today with grateful hearts, thanking You for guiding us through another week and for gathering us together in this fellowship. Grant us leaders who are fair, righteous, and filled with a big heart, that they may bring joy, justice, and lasting peace to all people in this nation. Sermon Summary – Rising Above Costly Mistakes  Preacher : Pastor Henry Yong Date: 24 August 2025 Scripture Passage : Ruth 1:1–22 Introduction Pastor Henry reminded us that life is a journey marked by decisions, and these choices carry consequences not only for ourselves but also for those around us. The story of Naomi and her family in Ruth 1 shows us how decisions made outside of God’s will can bring pain, yet also how God’s grace can still redeem broken lives.      Point 1 – Costly Decisions Outside God’s Will Scripture: “Now Elimelek, Naomi’s husband, died, and she was left with her two sons” (Ruth 1:3). Pastor Henry emphasized that Elimelek’s choice to leave Bethlehem for Moab during famine was made without waiting on God. What seemed practical ended in disaster—Naomi lost her husband and later her two sons. Pastor Henry reminded us that decisions made without prayer, guided by fear or convenience, often lead to spiritual and emotional loss. We are calle...

Journal: Psalms 126–130

Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father, we gather in Your presence with grateful hearts, remembering the joy of Psalm 126, where those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. Lord, many of us come with burdens, mistakes, and regrets, but we take comfort that You restore fortunes and bring hope to dry lands. Just as Naomi and Ruth walked through sorrow in Ruth 1 , yet You were already writing a greater story, we trust You to guide our steps. Teach us tonight to rise above costly mistakes, to find strength in Your mercy, and to look to You as our help, as the psalmist says, “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Bless our sharing, our listening, and our fellowship, that we may be encouraged, corrected, and renewed by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Bible Journal: Psalms 126–130 Psalm 126 Summary: Psalm 126 celebrates the restoration of God’s people, likening their joy to a dream fulfilled. It recalls God’s past deliverance and pleads for renewed restoration. Th...

📖 Chosen Preacher: Bro Shaun Yeoh Date: 7 August 2025 Scripture Passage: John 15:1–17 Introduction Brother Shaun Yeoh began by reminding us of a simple but life-changing truth: we are chosen by God . Our chosenness is not random, but deeply intentional and purposeful. Jesus’ words in John 15 reveal what it means to be His disciples—branches connected to the true vine, called to remain in His love, to be pruned, and to bear lasting fruit.          1. We Are Chosen to Abide in Christ Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” ( John 15:5 ). Brother Shaun explained that our chosenness is not about privilege, but about relationship and dependence . Just as branches cannot survive apart from the vine, we cannot thrive spiritually without Christ. To abide is to remain daily connected through prayer, Scripture, obedience, and fellowship. Only in Him...

🌿 Opening Prayer Heavenly Father, We thank Thee that we can gather once again in Thy presence as Thy disciples. We lift our eyes unto Thee, our Helper, who made heaven and earth, and who never slumbers nor sleeps. Today, as we reflect on Psalms 121–125, we are reminded that those who trust in Thee are like Mount Zion, unshaken and secure forever. Lord, we also thank Thee for the message we received through Brother Shaun on being “Chosen.” How humbling it is to know that Thou hast appointed us, not only to remain in Thee, the True Vine, but also to bear fruit that will last. We are chosen, not forsaken. We are called Thy friends, not servants, because Thou hast made known to us Thy will. Bless our time of fellowship, discussion, and sharing today. May Thy Spirit open our hearts to receive Thy Word afresh and give us boldness to live out our identity as Thy chosen people. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Psalm 121 Bible Summary: Psalm 121 is a song of trust in God’s protection. The psa...

📢   Title:   Authenticity  1 Thessalonians 2:1–12 Speaker: Reverend Aaron Liu Last Sunday, Reverend Aaron Liu shared from 1 Thessalonians 2:1–12, reminding us of the importance of living out an authentic faith. Paul’s ministry in Thessalonica was marked by courage, sincerity, and love, despite facing opposition.      1. Going the Distance with Courage (1 Thessalonians 2:1–2) Paul preached the gospel boldly despite suffering in Philippi. Reverend Aaron urged us to persevere in sharing God’s truth even when it is unpopular or costly, trusting God to strengthen us (Joshua 1:9). 2. Living for an Audience of One (1 Thessalonians 2:3–7) Paul’s motives were pure — he sought God’s approval, not human applause. We were reminded of Proverbs 29:25, that fearing people traps us, but trusting the Lord brings security. 3. Sharing Not Just the Gospel, but Our Lives (1 Thessalonians 2:8–12) Paul’s ministry was personal and relational. Like a caring paren...
