Sermon By Bro Chuah Seong York 讲员:蔡祥玉弟兄(Bro Chuah Seong York) Introduction 引言 In this sermon, “Redemption Road,” Bro Chuah Seong York reminds us that redemption means to recover what was lost by paying a price . He highlights that humanity was lost through sin, and God, in His mercy, paid the price through Jesus Christ to bring us back to Himself. Bro Chuah also points out that Psalm 130, one of the Songs of Ascent, reflects a spiritual journey—just like pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem. Likewise, believers today are on a journey of redemption , returning to God. He outlines three important phases on this journey: Contrition, Assurance & Anticipation, and Proclamation . 1. Contrition – A Heart of Repentance 一、痛悔——悔改的心 Scriptur...

Journal: Matthew 16–20

Bible Journal: Matthew 16–20 Matthew Chapter 16 1) Summary The Pharisees and Sadducees demand a sign from Jesus, but He rebukes them for their spiritual blindness. Jesus then warns His disciples about the “yeast” of the Pharisees—their teachings. Peter boldly declares that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of the living God. Jesus affirms this revelation and speaks about building His church. However, when Jesus begins to explain His coming suffering and death, Peter rebukes Him and is corrected. Jesus then teaches about the cost of discipleship—denying oneself and taking up the cross. Key Scripture “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” — Matthew 16:24 2) Reflection This chapter challenges me to examine who I truly believe Jesus is—not just intellectually, but personally. Like Peter, I may have moments of clarity, yet still resist God’s ways when they do not align with my expectations. Following Jesus is not about comfort, but surrende...

Journey of Grace - Living As Children Of The Light

Scripture Passage: Ephesians 5:8–14 经文:以弗所书 5:8–14 Sermon By: Yap Koon Roy 讲员:叶坤瑞弟兄(Bro Yap Koon Roy) Introduction 引言 In this sermon titled “Journey of Grace – Living As Children of the Light,” Bro Yap Koon Roy reflects on Ephesians 5:8–14, reminding believers of their transformed identity in Christ. He emphasizes that the Christian life is not merely about religious practice, but about a profound change brought about by God’s grace. The apostle Paul declares that believers were once darkness, but now they are light in the Lord. This statement reveals not just a change in behavior, but a complete transformation of identity. Through a real-life illustration, the sermon shows how life’s apparent security can be deceptive. When crisis comes, what once seemed meaningful can collapse, revealing the emptiness of life apart from God. It is often i...

Journal: Matthew 11–15

Matthew Chapter 11 1) Summary John the Baptist, while in prison, sends his disciples to ask if Jesus is truly the Messiah. Jesus responds by pointing to His works—healing, restoration, and good news to the poor. He affirms John’s role but rebukes those who reject God’s message. Jesus then gives a beautiful invitation to those who are weary to come to Him for rest. Key Scripture “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 2) Reflection Even John, a great prophet, experienced doubt. This reminds me that moments of uncertainty do not disqualify faith. Jesus does not reject the questioning heart—He invites it closer. His invitation to rest speaks deeply to my tendency to carry burdens alone instead of surrendering them. 3) Response Lord, I bring my weariness and doubts to You. Teach me to trust You even when I don’t understand. Help me to find true rest in Your presence instead of striving in my own strength. Matthew Chapter 12 1) Summary ...

Sermon Title: Companion for the Journey 讲道题目:旅程中的同行者 Scripture Passage: Romans 5:1–11 经文:罗马书 5:1–11 Sermon By Pastor Danny Chiew 讲员:赵振耀牧师(Pastor Danny Chiew) Introduction 引言 In this sermon titled “Companion for the Journey,” Pastor Danny Chiew reflects on Romans 5:1–11 as part of the series “Renewed in Mercy.” He begins by acknowledging that the book of Romans contains deep theological concepts that may feel difficult to understand, such as the word “justification.” However, the essence of justification is simple yet powerful: because all humanity has sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), no one can earn righteousness through their own efforts. Instead, righteousness is a gift from God , received through faith in Jesus Christ, who became the sacrifice for our sins. Through Christ’s wo...

Sermon Title: Guided By The Promise 讲道题目:被应许引导 Scripture Passage: Gospel of John 3:1–17 经文:约翰福音 3:1–17 Sermon By: Rev Aaron Liu 讲员:刘亚伦牧师 Sermon Summary 讲道摘要 Introduction 引言 Rev Aaron Liu began by highlighting the encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus, a Pharisee and teacher of Israel who came to Jesus at night. Rev Aaron Liu explained that Nicodemus’ visit at night symbolized spiritual searching and uncertainty . Although Nicodemus was knowledgeable in Scripture and respected among the religious leaders, he sensed that something deeper was missing in his spiritual life. Rev Aaron Liu reminded the congregation that many believers today may appear spiritually active outwardly—serving, attending church, and knowing Scripture—yet inwardly they may feel spiritually dry or incomplete .

Journal: Matthew 1–5

Matthew Chapter 1 1) Summary This chapter begins with the genealogy of Jesus, tracing His lineage from Abraham through David to Joseph, showing that Jesus fulfills God’s covenant promises. It then describes the miraculous birth of Jesus through the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. Joseph is reassured in a dream that the child is from God and is to be named Jesus, meaning “The Lord saves,” because He will save His people from their sins. Key Scripture “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” — Matthew 1:21 2) Reflection This chapter reminds me that God works through generations, history, and even imperfect people to fulfill His divine plan. The genealogy includes individuals with broken pasts, yet God still used them. This shows that God’s grace is greater than human failures. Joseph’s obedience also speaks powerfully. Even though the situation was confusing and difficult, he trusted God and followed His inst...
