Sermon Summary 讲道摘要 Sermon Title: The Faithful God 讲道主题: 《信实的上帝》 Scripture Passage: Psalm 121 **经文:**诗篇 121 篇 Sermon By: Marianne Liaw **讲员:**廖玛丽安 Transcript-Based Summary 根据讲道实录整理 Introduction 引言 Psalm 121 is one of the Songs of Ascent (Psalms 120–134), sung by the Israelites as they journeyed toward Jerusalem for worship. These were not leisure trips. The road was dangerous, steep, and filled with uncertainty. As pilgrims ascended the hills, they sang to remind themselves of who God is and where their hope truly lies. The psalm opens with a deeply human question: 诗篇以一个极其真实的人性问题开始: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?” (Psalm 121:1) “我要向山举目;我的帮助从何而来?”(诗篇 121:1) This is not a poetic reflection on scenic beauty, but a cry of dependence in the face of danger. In the same way, believers today are pilgrims on a journey through life—facing grief, ...

📖 Revelation Chapter 21 — The New Heaven and the New Earth 1. Summary Revelation 21 reveals the ultimate fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan: a new heaven and a new earth where God dwells permanently with His people. The old order—death, mourning, crying, and pain—passes away. John sees the New Jerusalem , radiant and pure, descending from heaven like a bride prepared for her husband. This chapter proclaims that God’s promise is not escape from creation, but renewal of creation . God makes all things new. Key Scripture “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” (Revelation 21:4) 2. Reflection This chapter fills my heart with deep hope. God does not merely fix what is broken— He recreates it . Every wound, injustice, sorrow, and unanswered prayer will be healed in His presence. I am especially moved by the truth that God Himself will dwell with us. Heaven is not defined by streets of gold, but by God’s nearness . 3. Response ...

The Church – Facing Changes, Remaining Relevant

Image
The church today finds itself at a crossroads. For some, the pace of change feels unsettling—traditions are shifting, styles are evolving, and familiar patterns no longer feel the same. For others, the concern is the opposite: that the church is not changing fast enough to engage a rapidly transforming world. Mr. Yap Koon Roy reminds us that the church is not a personal possession, cultural club, or inherited institution. The church belongs to God —purchased at great cost through the blood of Jesus Christ. The question before us is not whether change will come, but whether we will embrace change with faith, humility, and mission . ...

Journal for Revelation chapters 16–20

Revelation Chapter 16 — The Seven Bowls of God’s Wrath 1. Summary Revelation 16 describes the pouring out of the seven bowls of God’s wrath upon the earth. These judgments are final, intense, and complete, affecting the land, sea, rivers, sun, throne of the beast, and the whole world. Despite overwhelming judgment, many refuse to repent and instead curse God. The chapter culminates in the gathering for Armageddon and a declaration that God’s judgment is finished. This chapter reveals that God’s justice is righteous, final, and unavoidably complete . Key Scripture “It is done!” (Revelation 16:17) 2. Reflection This chapter sobers me deeply. I see that persistent rebellion hardens the human heart to the point where even undeniable judgment does not produce repentance. It reminds me that grace must never be taken lightly. I am challenged to respond to God while His mercy is still extended. 3. Response Lord, keep my heart soft and responsive to You. Help me never to resist Your correction ...

Aaron Liu **讲员:**刘牧师 Primary Text: Acts 2:42–47 (NIV) **主要经文:**使徒行传 2:42–47(新国际版) “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” “他们都恒心遵守使徒的教训,彼此交接、擘饼、祈祷……主将得救的人天天加给他们。” Introduction|From Following Christ to Belonging Together Rev. Aaron Liu began by guiding the congregation to reflect on Jesus’ invitation, “Come and see” (John 1:39), reminding them that this invitation is always relational before it is missional. To come to Jesus is not merely to observe Him from a distance, but to remain with Him, walk with Him, and be shaped by His life.

Revelation Chapter 11 — The Two Witnesses and the Seventh Trumpet 1. Summary Revelation 11 describes two witnesses who prophesy boldly during a time of great opposition. They are given authority by God, protected until their mission is complete, and eventually killed by the beast. After three and a half days, God raises them to life and takes them to heaven. The chapter concludes with the sounding of the seventh trumpet, proclaiming God’s eternal reign. This chapter shows that God’s witnesses may suffer, but they will never be defeated . Key Scripture “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15) 2. Reflection I am reminded that faithfulness to God does not guarantee comfort or safety. The witnesses obeyed God despite rejection and persecution. Their resurrection assures me that God has the final word, not evil or death. This challenges me to remain faithful in my witness, even when obedience is...

Revelation Chapter 6 — The Opening of the Seals 1. Summary Revelation 6 describes the opening of the first six seals by the Lamb. The first four seals release the Four Horsemen, symbolizing conquest, war, famine, and death. The fifth seal reveals the cries of martyrs longing for justice, while the sixth seal brings cosmic disturbances signaling the coming judgment of God. Humanity responds with fear, recognizing that the “great day of God’s wrath” has arrived. This chapter reveals that history is not random— God remains sovereign even in chaos . Key Scripture “For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?” (Revelation 6:17) 2. Reflection The opening of the seals reminds me that suffering, injustice, and upheaval exist under God’s sovereign permission. While judgment unfolds, God is still attentive to the cries of His people. The martyrs are not forgotten; they are seen, heard, and honored. This chapter challenges my tendency to seek comfort over faithfulness. Am ...

Crossing the Jordan: Living by Grace through Faith and Obedience Preacher: Rev. Danny Chiew Scripture: Joshua 3:1–17; Joshua 24:15 Series: Grace Upon Grace Occasion: Year-End / New Year Preparation Introduction Rev. Danny Chiew began by inviting the congregation to pause and reflect on the transition between seasons. Standing at the Jordan River, Israel faced a defining moment: the wilderness was behind them, the Promised Land lay ahead, yet a flooded river stood in the way. Rev. Danny emphasized that God often brings His people to moments where human strength, experience, and planning are no longer sufficient . The crossing of the Jordan was not merely a historical event—it was a spiritual picture of how believers move forward in life: by grace, through faith, and in obedience . As one year closes and another begins, Rev. Danny gently pressed the question: “How are we entering the next season of our lives—with fear, or with faith in God’s presence?”       ...

Journal Revelation 1 - 5

📖 Book of Revelation Journaling (Chapters 1–5) 🔔 Revelation Chapter 1 (1) Summary Revelation opens with a divine unveiling given by Jesus Christ to John while he is exiled on the island of Patmos. John testifies that this revelation is meant for the churches and comes with a blessing to those who read, hear, and obey it. The chapter centers on a majestic vision of the risen Christ—glorious, authoritative, and eternal—walking among the seven lampstands (the churches). Jesus reveals Himself as the Alpha and Omega, sovereign over history, death, and life. Key Scripture “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!” (Revelation 1:17–18) (2) Reflection This chapter realigns my vision of Jesus. He is not only the gentle Savior of the Gospels but also the reigning King, clothed in glory and authority. His presence among the lampstands reminds me that He walks closely with His church—even in persecution, weakness,...
