Introduction
Last Sunday, Reverend Aaron Liu shared a beautiful message from Zechariah 9. This chapter reminds us that God promised to send a special King to His people. This King is not like ordinary kings who rule with power and wealth. Instead, He is humble, righteous, and brings peace. This prophecy was fulfilled when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey.
The message showed us 3 important truths about King Jesus.
1. King Jesus Shows God’s Righteousness
Zechariah 9:9 says:
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! See, your King comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey."
Jesus is a righteous King, which means everything He does is right, good, and fair. When we read the Bible, we see God’s perfect plan to send Jesus to save us. When we look at Jesus’ life, we see how He always obeyed God, loved people, and cared for those in need. Jesus shows us what God’s goodness looks like.
2. King Jesus Brings Salvation and Peace
Zechariah also said that this King will bring peace to the world.
Zechariah 9:10 says:
"I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the war horses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations."
Jesus did not come as a warrior king, fighting with swords and armies. Instead, He came to save us from sin by dying on the cross. Through Jesus, we can have peace with God and peace in our hearts. Jesus’ salvation is a gift for everyone, no matter who they are.
3. King Jesus Reflects God’s Glory
Zechariah 9:16 says:
"The Lord their God will save His people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in His land like jewels in a crown."
When we follow Jesus, our lives become like jewels, shining with God’s beauty. Jesus changes us from the inside out. The way we live — loving others, forgiving, and doing good — shows the world how great God is. Our changed lives bring glory to God.
Conclusion
Reverend Aaron reminded us that Jesus is our King. He came to bring righteousness, salvation, and glory to all who trust in Him. Even today, Jesus wants to rule in our hearts. One day, He will return as the King of Kings, and His Kingdom will have no end.
Let us welcome Jesus into our hearts, follow His ways, and share His love with others.
Your King is Coming — are you ready to receive Him?
