Introduction|From Following Christ to Belonging Together
Rev. Aaron Liu began by guiding the congregation to reflect on Jesus’ invitation, “Come and see” (John 1:39), reminding them that this invitation is always relational before it is missional.
To come to Jesus is not merely to observe Him from a distance, but to remain with Him, walk with Him, and be shaped by His life.
Rev. Aaron Liu explained that when we respond to Christ, we are not simply attending a service or joining a programme.
We are drawn into a people — the people of God — a spiritual family being built together by grace and for God’s purposes (1 Peter 2:5).
As the church enters a new season, Rev. Aaron Liu reminded the congregation that this is a moment not for slogans, but for spiritual clarity.
Vision answers who we are becoming in Christ.
Mission answers how we will live this out together.
Church Vision 2026–2030
A Christ-centred, intergenerational family being transformed and transforming others
Rev. Aaron Liu encouraged the church to receive this vision not as a statement to admire, but as a calling to embody.
1. Christ at the Centre of All We Are
Scripture:
Colossians 1:18
Rev. Aaron Liu reminded the church that Christ must not only be important, but central.
The church does not exist around activities, leaders, or traditions, but around the living Christ.
When Christ is central, unity is preserved with humility (Ephesians 4:2–3), decisions are discerned through prayer (James 1:5), and ministry flows from dependence rather than performance (John 15:5).
When Christ is central, everything else is rightly ordered.
2. Formed as an Intergenerational Family
Scripture:
Psalm 145:4
Ephesians 2:19
Rev. Aaron Liu reminded the congregation that God’s design for the church has always been family, not fragmentation.
An intergenerational church is not defined by age groups sharing space, but by generations sharing life.
Faith is strengthened when stories are shared, wisdom is passed on, and love flows both upward and downward (1 Corinthians 12:12–27).
The church does not aim merely to grow larger, but to grow deeper — together.
3. Lives Continually Transformed by the Gospel
Scripture:
2 Corinthians 5:17
Romans 12:2
Rev. Aaron Liu emphasized that the gospel does not merely inform the mind; it transforms the whole person.
When Christ is central and believers are rooted in loving community, lives are slowly and faithfully reshaped.
Transformation is often quiet — seen in healed wounds, renewed perspectives, restored relationships, and clarified purpose.
True fruit is measured not by visibility, but by faithfulness.
4. Sent to Serve Our Communities and the World
Scripture:
Matthew 5:16
Acts 1:8
Rev. Aaron Liu reminded the church that a church shaped by Christ cannot remain inward-focused.
God places His people in specific cities, cultures, and seasons so that His love may be made visible.
Serving others is not an additional programme, but the natural overflow of transformed lives (James 2:17).
Church Mission 2026–2030
Every generation growing as faithful disciples of Jesus — loving God wholeheartedly, living faith authentically, and serving others sacrificially
Rev. Aaron Liu reminded the church that discipleship is a lifelong journey for every believer.
Living the Mission|Three Rhythms of Discipleship
Loving God Wholeheartedly
Matthew 22:37
Discipleship begins with love for God that is nurtured through prayer, worship, Scripture, and intimacy with Christ.
Living Faith Authentically
James 1:22
Faith is lived out daily — in ordinary decisions, relationships, and responsibilities.
Serving Others Sacrificially
Mark 10:45
True discipleship reflects the self-giving love of Christ, even when it costs comfort or convenience.
Conclusion|Walking Forward Together in Christ
Rev. Aaron Liu concluded by reminding the congregation that this vision is not something we strive to achieve by human effort.
It names what God is already doing among His people and invites the church to participate more intentionally.
The church is called to:
Belong intentionally — choosing covenant over convenience (Hebrews 10:24–25)
Grow faithfully — allowing Christ to shape every season of life (Colossians 2:6–7)
Serve generously — making God’s love visible in tangible ways (1 Peter 4:10)
This is not a call to perfection, but to faithfulness; not to rush ahead, but to walk together under Christ.
Take-Home Message (One Sentence)
God is forming us into one Christ-centred family, growing together as disciples whose lives are transformed and whose love is sent outward for His purposes.
Amen. 阿门
Closing DG Prayer
Gracious and loving God,
we thank You for this time together as Your family.
Thank You for Your Word that has spoken to us,
for the reminders of who we are in Christ
and how You are shaping us as one body.
Lord Jesus, You have called us by Your grace.
Help us to belong intentionally —
to love one another beyond convenience,
to walk together across generations,
and to reflect Your love in our relationships.
Holy Spirit, continue to form us.
Grow us as authentic disciples —
deepening our faith, shaping our character,
and teaching us to live out Your Word daily
in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
Send us out, Lord, with willing hearts.
Show us where to serve faithfully in this season,
that Your love may be made visible
through our words, our actions, and our lives.
As we go from this place,
keep us united as one family,
grounded in one faith,
and committed to one mission.
We offer ourselves afresh to You —
to love You deeply,
to live our faith faithfully,
and to serve others sacrificially.
We ask all this in the precious name of
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
