Opening Prayer:

Heavenly Father,
We come before Thee today with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation. Thank Thee for the gift of this time together, for the opportunity to meet virtually and share in fellowship. We thank Thee for the sermon shared by Reverend Liu on Thy Sovereignty, reminding us of Thy supreme authority and faithfulness. As we gather today, we ask that Thy Holy Spirit guide our hearts and minds, that we may grow in understanding and faith.

Lord, we also thank Thee for the gift of technology that allows us to connect across distances. May this virtual gathering be a reflection of Thy presence, bringing us closer to one another and to Thee. Open our hearts to Thy word and to the encouragement we will find in this time together. Let this meeting be a time of renewal, of learning, and of mutual support.

God allowed the Edomites and Philistines to rise against Judah. Jehoram was struck with a fatal disease, and his death was dishonorable, with no one mourning him.

"The Lord did not want to destroy the house of David, but because of the covenant He had made with David, He was willing to preserve a lamp for him and his descendants forever." (2 Chronicles 21:7)

Reflection:
The story of Jehoram is a stark reminder of the consequences of idolatry and disobedience. Despite being part of God’s covenant with David, Jehoram’s sinful actions brought destruction upon himself and his kingdom. His reign serves as a warning about the consequences of turning away from God and embracing evil. God’s patience is evident, but His justice is also clear.
